Dr. McDonnell joined the office in August of 2000 becoming a partner a year later in September of 2001. His easy-going, light-hearted manner puts children of all ages at ease. He is passionate about educating his patients and their parents about good oral hygiene and strives to ensure everyone is comfortable with the office visit. Dr. McDonnell also uses his experience to treat children with special needs. Using a variety of techniques, he makes certain that these patients receive the same attention and care that he gives to all children.  In 2004, the Consumer's Research Council of America recognized Dr. McDonnell as one of America's Top Dentists.

Dr. McDonnell and his lovely wife, Amy have 4 children, Aidan, Molly, Rory and Maggie and a dog named Lulu. They enjoy a variety of family activities, including Red Sox games.  An avid Red Sox fan, Dr. McDonnell follows his team with relentless passion and is thrilled that the Curse of the Bambino was broken in 2004.

Eric McMahon, D.D.S.

Pediatric Dentistry of Clifton Park is pleased to introduce the newest addition to our staff, Dr. Eric McMahon. Following in the same footsteps as Dr. McDonnell, he also graduated from Harvard’s specialty program in pediatric dentistry at the Children’s Hospital in Boston. He is a kid at heart… with a true passion to care for children.

Dr. McMahon grew up in California and attended the University of California, Davis. While in college he played for the Men’s Soccer team and studied to become a genetic engineer. After graduating, he spent one year doing genetic research before realizing that his desire to be around people would not be met in the laboratory.  Dr. McMahon attended the University of Pacific, School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California. After graduating from dental school in 2005, it was Harvard University that brought Dr. McMahon across the country to provide him extensive training in the management and treatment of children’s dental needs.

Dr. McMahon enjoys the honesty of pediatric patients, and the unique challenges they present.  His Californian, relaxed, yet youthful sense of humor makes him a comfortable fit in the established atmosphere of our office. Dr. McMahon is thrilled to be joining our practice, and very much hopes to become an integral member of the community as he establishes himself in the area.  Dr. McMahon’s interests include sports, photography, and making trips to California to visit his family.

Cheri Roque, D.M.D.

Dr. Cheri Roque is a native of Scottsdale, Arizona. In 1996, American University in Washington, DC brought Dr. Roque to the east coast where she earned a degree in chemistry and pursued Spanish as a second language. After college, she completed research in the natural sciences at the National Institute of Health (NIH). While completing her research at the NIH, her interest in helping people influenced Dr. Roque  to apply her science background by pursuing a career in dentistry.

Like Dr. McDonnell, Dr. Roque earned a dental degree from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. While in dental school, she was involved in several community service projects working with children. It was here that her passion to treat children became the center of her education. From that point on, Dr. Roque worked hard to fulfill her new dream of becoming a pediatric dentist. Her own positive childhood memories of visits to a pediatric dentist were influential in forming her desire to pass along positive memories to her own patients.

After completion of dental school at Harvard in 2006, Dr. Roque went on to the University of Connecticut where she completed a two-year residency training program in the specialty of pediatric dentistry. Dr. Roque is very excited to be a part of Pediatric Dentistry of Clifton Park, and looks forward to applying her skills towards the treatment of the children of the capital region, and becoming an active member of the community. She is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She lives with her husband Pedro and their dog Coco, a cockapoo. When Dr. Roque is not in the office she enjoys cooking, running, exploring upstate New York and spending time with friends and family.
