Dr. James McDonnell | Dr. Eric McMahon | Dr. Casey Tenniswood | Dr. Brian Shaughnessy
Upon completion of his specialty training in 2000, Dr. McDonnell returned to the Capital Region where he established this successful dental practice using an easy-going, light-hearted manner to treat children and educate patients and their parents about good oral hygiene.
Dr. McDonnell
and his wife, Amy have 5 children, are active in the community and
share a passion for the Boston Red Sox.
After
practicing pediatric dentistry for a short while in the Boston area,
Dr. McMahon moved to the Capital Region in 2008 to join our team.
Dr. McMahon enjoys the honesty of pediatric patients, and the unique
challenges they present. His Californian, relaxed, youthful
sense of humor helps contribute to the relaxed atmosphere that makes
our office a place that children want to come.
Dr. McMahon’s
interests include sports, photography, and making trips to
California to visit his family.
As a child,
Dr. Tenniswood loved to go to the dentist. At the age of 13, she
announced to her astonished parents that she wanted to become a
dentist. In 2009, Dr. Tenniswood became a member of our team and
enjoys making children feel at ease, creating happy memories of
their visits to the dentist.
In her free
time, Dr. Tenniswood enjoys reading, running and visiting family in
Detroit and Montreal.
After
practicing pediatric dentistry for a short while in the Boston area,
Dr. Shaughnessy decided to join our team in Clifton Park. Since
February, 2010, Dr. Shaughnessy has been a member of our team;
parents report in numerous testimonies that he is kind, caring and
excellent with children, and does an excellent job explaining
treatment.
Dr.
Shaughnessy and his wife Jordan have three daughters, and a “son,” a
chocolate lab.

Dr.
Eric McMahon grew up in California. He is a graduate of the
University of California where he studied genetic engineering. After
graduation, he worked for one year performing genetic research
before realizing that his desire to be around people would not be
met in the laboratory. Dr. McMahon earned his DDS from the
University of Pacific, School of Dentistry in San Francisco,
California. He completed his specialty training at Harvard
University’s specialty program in pediatric dentistry at the
Children’s Hospital in Boston. He is a kid at heart with a true
passion to care for children.
Dr.
Casey Tenniswood grew up in Michigan. She is a graduate of Oakland
University in Rochester Michigan were she completed a degree program
in biology. She earned her DDS at the University Of Michigan School
Of Dentistry where, she greatly enjoyed treating and interacting
with her youngest patients. She believes that going to the dentist
should be an experience children look forward to, and decided to
pursue that as her next endeavor. Dr. Tenniswood completed her
specialty training in pediatric dentistry at the Children’s Hospital
of Michigan where she was the chief resident.
Dr.
Brian Shaughnessy is a native Bostonian who graduated cum laude from
Northeastern University in 1991 with a degree in physical therapy.
While practicing physical therapy, he decided to pursue a degree in
dentistry. He received his DMD from the University Of Connecticut
School Of Dental Medicine in 2006, where he served as class
president. Dr. Shaughnessy completed his specialty training at
Harvard University’s specialty program in pediatric dentistry at the
Children’s Hospital in Boston in 2008, during which time he served
as chief resident. During his young professional career, Dr.
Shaughnessy received numerous leadership and academic awards,
including being named “best all around student” at the University of
Connecticut.
